WELCOME TO THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF POKEMON! Or rather, hello! After all, if you've lived your whole life here, it's not so much of a welcome at this point is it? So who's your precious partner? And what do you want to do? Challenge the league, partake in contests, win the pokeathlon? The world is your cloyster!

The pokemon AU meme is exactly that: a fusion au of your canon and Pokemon! As fun as isekais and jamjars are, that isn't what we're here for this time.

Please post a toplevel with your character's pokemon and maybe fill us in about what they're doing or aiming for, or some backstory! No blanks now! And of course, canon Pokemon characters are welcome. But please warn for spoilers for Scarlet/Violet!

(ooc: In Pokemon AUs, Fabian's father William would be the (now-retired) head of a group who steals supplies and technology to sell to the various evil teams. Fabian skews the story of his father's old work, if asked about that. He frames him as something of a saboteur to the organizations, as opposed to a supplier. The family has profited heavily from that work, and travels a lot.

Fabian - age 16 - can be found in any region, training up his Pokemon to take on the local gyms. He does a lot of posturing about how cool he is, but Fabian's genuinely a pretty skilled trainer... And a good guy, underneath the snobbery and pretentiousness. While specifics of his team will change from region to region, his ace Houndoom is a constant.)

( mafuyu is a lower-case ace trainer from kanto, though with some strings pulled and some luck, she's managed to take in a buneary, an alolan vulpix, a froslass and a ralts. for convenience's sake, she's traveling wherever, but her hometown speaks so highly of her! they're just so proud of their perfect poster girl.

[An up-and-coming contest star! He hopes. Aira only has a Jigglypuff and a Togepi right now, but he is working hard! He travels a lot to get his two 'mons exposed to other people and maybe pick up some tricks for their shows.]

Kanade Yoisaki | Project Sekai | OTA

[Kanade's father was once a somewhat popular Gym Leader in their small town. The gym eventually fell on hard times, though; his losses began to outweigh his wins, and many of the more up and coming names in the battling world began to ridicule him for favoring sentimentality for his team, rather than practicality as a gym leader. The League began evaluating him rather sternly, with tests he often only passed by the skin of his teeth, and he eventually collapsed from stress. Kanade, unfortunately, witnessed all of this.

Kanade is now traveling alone, attempting her own journey and eventual tackling of the Gym Challenge so that she might one day take over her father's gym and redeem his name and take some of that pressure off her father's shoulders. Currently, she's traveling with a Cubone, Phantump, Ralts, and Yamask. Curiously, ghost pokemon seem to be drawn to her...]

Mayoi Ayase | Ensemble Stars!! | OTA

[Kind of a weird recluse that can be seen traveling around. Doesn't talk much about where he's from beyond saying he's from Sinnoh. While coming off suspicious, he is actually a very kind and gentle trainer who takes in pokemon that are often more misunderstood.]

[He seems like a pushover in a battle, but in reality he's cunning tactician. A Terrifying Demon on the field, and he seems to be climbing his way through whatever gym challenge is present in the region you meet him in.]

[I am most familiar with Galar as a region but he can be literally anywhere that suits your character best. Mayoi travels with his partner Mimikyu, a Chandelure, a Banette, and a Noibat]

Gundam Tanaka | Dangan Ronpa | OTA

[An apprentice Pokemon breeder working at a Pokemon Daycare. Claims to be part of a sinister Team Tanaka but never really seems to be doing any actual evil... and he's full of helpful advice about taking care of Pokemon!

His main Pokemon is a Morpeko. Some other Pokemon of his may include Houndoom, Dedenne, pretty much any rodent Pokemon really, Alolan Vulpix and Greavard and also pretty much any dog Pokemon.

Also optional is a fusion AU with some Pokemon version of Hope's Peak Academy! (But please no harm to any Pokemon themselves in any killing games)]

Dick Gumshoe | Ace Attorney

[Either a local detective or part of the International Police (basically a goofier Looker!). His Pokemon team largely consists of Dogs, most commonly having Stoutland and Arcanine out. He may also be investigating alongside a Gumshoos.]
