Vash is clearly still reeling, overwhelmed, and sore...but after a moment of silence, he quickly zips the bag up, slings it back over his shoulder, and heads for the window. He has no doubt that Ain should be able to carry them both, that part isn't the issue here...it's worrying that they could be shot down.
Vash tries to put that thought from his mind as he pushes open the window and climbs out onto the fire escape, craning his neck so he can find the quickest route to scramble up to the rooftop. He purposefully picked the highest floor possible so this could be a potential escape route if need be. Not his first rodeo, etc.
