[Honest to god, Vash is just thankful no one else approaches them right now. His nerves are shot even for him, and he’s not sure either of them could take more prejudice today. Someone WILL die and it wouldn’t be either of them.
Vash let’s Ain lead the way up the stairs (because this is COUNTRY there’s not going to be an elevator), trying to ignore the continued stabbing pain in the backs of his thighs, hips, and lower back. It’s really hitting him now that the adrenaline rush has abated somewhat, though he does try not to hobble like an old man up to their room. It’s much, much smaller than the apartment they stole, but he doesn’t care. He just smiles as he sets their bag on the floor, watching Ain throw himself onto the bed.
If nothing else, the bed is probably MUCH softer than their last. The pillows and comforter are all stuffed with feathers, ironically.]
