["Aww look at who just got a new collar how nice :)" the passersby are probably thinking, while Ain and Vash both know this is something that runs a little deeper than that.
Ain is yet again struggling not to get all up in Vash's space, cling to him by his arm or hold his hand or kiss him stupid. It's such a difficult thing to control, you see. The man normally has no impulse control and does whatever he wants, damn the consequences, but he's... trying, for Vash's sake. Not his own, never his own.]
I've always been yours, but I'm glad it's official now.
[He really, genuinely is, and he says as much with a bright smile. Ain's genuine smiles are rare; Vash gets just about all of them, but he's usually smiling at something. He's difficult to read and makes himself that way on purpose, wearing a constantly-grinning mask that he rarely lets slip. If he lets it slip, people might know him, and it's as Vash always thinks: He doesn't want to be known. Not by anyone else, at least.
Enter Vash, who gets all of Ain's dumb laughter and big smiles and makes him blush uncontrollably over the littlest things. It's nice to be open with someone. It's nice to get things off his chest when he's otherwise so secretive, even though they came here early this morning and Ain had to admit that he was lying about just how much forbidden power he possesses.
It's hard to put into words, so Ain doesn't try, but he's eternally grateful to Vash for just being.]
...let's go back to the inn for the night. I want to... spend time with you. Alone.
