As the bird returns to sit with Vash, Vash sits back a little against the rocks to give Ain some more room, looking up at the stars overhead. It's truly a beautiful sight, the mostly-clear sky with the galaxy surrounding them. It's the life that Vash had up there in the stars, once upon a time, that seemed idyllic and unshakeable. It was perfect. Would have forever remained perfect, had he and Nai not gotten curious...had they not learned the truth. Had Nai not learned too much.

Now he's here, on Earth, struggling to survive. Trying to protect this world from his brother, who seeks nothing more than to destroy it.
