( jinx never meant to go close to shore, and human vessels and whatever else- and by the time she realized just where she was, in the light of the day she was barely visible in the water, and a startled fisherman didn't know if it was a monster or something else and had reached for a spear when she was distracted. In her efforts to simply escape, made worse by pain and confusion, jinx found herself in a bit of a bind.

human ropes were twisty things, hard to see in murky waters even when you're not terribly distracted and now pushed over the verge of panic- and the ropes moving upwards helped no matters. she's not the only thing caught, which kind of soothes her wounded pride, but when she finds herself upheaved from the sea and dropped on some hard surface... the soothing is gone, her side is in terrible pain- bleeding, actually, so leaving the water was probably for the best but she doesn't want to say it- and she whips a glare at the first human she sees with a snarl as soon as she regains herself, forcing herself up on one elbow while her other hand is pressed over the wound. )
