I was about to tell them I thought I'd found someone when they told me they'd settled on a husband for me. I don't want to marry some stranger, though, I want to marry you.

( aira sniffles and hiiro immediately closes the distance between them to wrap him in his arms. it's not fair. )

I- I know. I know... I don't want this either...

[Hiiro pulls him into his arms and Aira starts crying. He can't help it.]

You're an Amagi, right? Do you think your dad outranks whoever I'm engaged to...?

( ... is it his clan? his father is the head after all... frowning, hiiro tries to think, but. )

[Aira reaches down and pulls out a fan that he then unfolds and shows to Hiiro. It has the characters for "Amagi" painted on them.]

It was Mom's idea. I'm supposed to have it out so my fiancé can find me...I guess they didn't tell him I look kind of European.

[Aira gets to his feet with a sigh, taking Hiiro's arm and dragging him off.]

Come on, let's go find the matchmaker or my parents. I can't believe neither of our parents mentioned our finacé's name.

( the words burn to say- he's nothing if not a dutiful son. but he'll choose aira more than duty. )

[Aira giggles and squeezes back.]

Really? You'd run away, just to be with me?

( he says it so simply, and maybe some might find him acting out of sorts. but father always said that when you find the one, to do everything for them, so... )

[Aira, still a little teary-eyed, just throws himself at Hiiro in a hug. Who cares if Hiiro's not the one his parents chose? It's the one he chose, and he loves him!]

Oh, do you think Tattsun-san could help us? He used to help out a temple...

( hiiro doesn't budge beyond some initial surprise before he wraps his arms around aira again.

but before hiiro can answer, the teashop's door opens, and one of the waitresses steps out, worried.

"Um... Are you Shiratori Aira-san and Amagi Hiiro-san? We have your room ready."

[Aira looks at the waitress, eyes wide.]

So...I was here to meet Hiro-kun?!

( "Ah... yes? Oh dear, did you have the wrong name? Don't worry. We have everything under control. So please, step inside and warm yourselves! A fresh pot of tea and wagashi have been prepared."

They just told me it was an Amagi! They didn't give me the name!

[Aira is So Offended as he leads Hiiro into the teahouse and to the room they've apparently had this entire time.]

I was crying over the thought of not being able to marry you!

( hiiro follows, eyes wide in a half-daze before he just. bursts out laughing. )

We were so scared! And for nothing! I was so prepared to ruin everything...! But... I'm glad it's you. It's really, actually you, officially.

It's you! I get to marry my best friend and the boy I really, truly love!

[Aira pulls out his fan to hide their faces as he leans in for a kiss.]

...running away would have been so romantic though~

( hiiro squeaks a little at the kiss but is beaming afterwards. the waitress giggles- she is going to gossip later. once they get to the private room, she slides the door open for them and bows politely like they weren't just stealing kisses and also planning to run away in case they somehow weren't marrying each other. )

Ah- yes, thank you...

( ... so like. is this tea room just... a date? that their parents are paying for? )

[Apparently! Aira takes a seat and starts to pour Hiiro tea.]

I'm surprised they want me to marry you, though, and not your brother. He's still single, isn't he?
